Arthur W. Hogling, Ph.D. - Bio
Dr. Art Hogling is a former special educator, psychologist, school principal and developmental disabilities program director. Presently, he is Executive Director of DDRC. He has degrees from Drake University (B.A. Psychology/Special Education) Kent State University (M.Ed. Special Education Administration) and the University of Colorado (Ph.D. with honors in Public Administration/Nonprofit Administration/Ethics). In addition, he undertook graduate level certification programs in school administration and managed health care from Denver University.
Dr. Hogling has been selected for numerous boards, commissions and legislative committees, including having been appointed to the State Board of Human Services by both Governor Owens and Governor Ritter. Presently, he is President of Alliance, which represents fifteen of Colorado’s Community Centered Boards and thirty service agencies. He is past president of the Colorado Council for Exceptional Children, American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Colorado and the Colorado Nonprofit Association. He has won numerous awards including the William Funk Award, Colorado’s highest award for nonprofit leadership. Colorado’s Governor named a state day in his honor. Upon Jefferson County’s anniversary in 2009, he was named one of the citizens who have contributed the most to our community in its 150 year history. He has won the Arc Mack Award and has been elected as a fellow of the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
Dr. Hogling is an Affiliate Professor at Regis University School of Nonprofit Management where he was honored with the Excellence in Teaching Award and is an honorarium faculty member at the University of Colorado. He has published on the topics of human rights, ethics and nonprofit management.
