New Supported Living Services (SLS) Information Process

The State of Colorado, Division for Developmental Disabilities (DDD) is the state unit which designed the recent changes in the implementation of the Supported Living Service system. Families have raised numerous questions about these changes and the effects on their family. DDD has indicated they were not happy with their original process for answering questions and they have created a new procedure. Individuals with concerns, complaints, issues and questions should now call Jo Kammerzell at 303.866.7450. She will log all questions, look at issues, trends and provide resolution to these matters.

The Jeffco ARC and DDRC announce meetings to discuss SLS/CES changes

The Arc – Jefferson, Clear Creek & Gilpin Counties and the Developmental Disabilities Resource Center will be hosting meetings to discuss upcoming changes in the SLS/CES Medicaid waivers.  The meetings will be held Wednesday, June 10th at 3:30 p.m. in the Twin Lakes Conference Rooms on the 2nd floor and Monday, June 15th at 6:30 p.m. in the Summit Room on the 1st floor.  Meetings are in the DDRC Building located at 11177 W. 8th Avenue in Lakewood. State Proposed Changes to the SLS and CES Waivers

The State Division of Developmental Disabilities has issued a correction to its April 27th, 2009 letter concerning Supported Living Services (SLS) changes. The letter included an incorrect address for those wishing to comment or ask questions. The correct address is: DevelopmentalDisabilities.FAQ@state.co.us

Information for SLS and CES Providers

As you know there continue to be major changes in the HCBS-DD (formerly Comprehensive services), HCBS-SLS and HCBS-CES waivers. Some of these changes have already happened and many will happen July 1, 2009. All three waivers need to be renewed as of July 1, 2009. DDRC has tried to keep everyone informed of these changes. However they are very complex and we only have limited information. Providers should carefully analyze these changes, their potential impact and be diligent in learning this evolving and complicated process. Read the SLS provider letter...
