Director Of Nursing
Salary:
$48,000 per Year.
This is a full time--36 hour work week position.
This position is in the residential services department (Quality Living Options) and will participate in medical planning of all assigned consumers in residential settings. Will provide clinical consultation and supervision to LPNs by: 1) reviewing and approving annual nursing reports; 2)conducting annual audit of all cases; 3)coordinate case review meetings. Develop medical resources in the community and act as liaison between providers, pharmaceutical agencies, clinics, and DDRC. Conduct regular meetings with LPNs to exchange information and address issues affecting consumers. Assist directors with supervision of LPNs concerning job performance and scheduling time off requests. Maintain current, accurate medical records on consumers and act as a supportive team member and medical consultant to staff, consumers and their families. Teach medication administration; update Hep B trainings and immunizations. Must be able to work as a team member to best meet the needs of the residents. Pager and on call rotation is involved.
Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school with a current Colorado license to practice as a BSN/RN. Minimum 3 years nursing exp. and 5 years staff supervision experience. Prefer one year experience with developmental disabilities. Knowledge of long term care system rules and regulations. Computer literacy required. Must be able to obtain First Aid and CPR certification. Must have the ability to stand, pivot and transfer up to 60 pounds when transferring consumers to and from wheelchairs. Must have the ability to bend at the hips and knees in order to transfer consumers to and from wheelchair. Must have the ability to lift/push/pull/carry 10 to 20 pounds frequently and 30 to 40 pounds occasionally. Must have the ability to sit for long periods of time. Must have the ability to reach to shoulder level and above. Must have the ability to use computer for periods up to 2 hours a day. Must have and maintain good driving record and provide current driving history at the time of application.
